How can Malcolm Glazer put his takeover debt on Manchester United?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Man Utd are currently in debt after the takeover by the Glazers during which he transferred part of HIS debt, incurred from his takeover bid, on the club. So every time I watch a Manchester United match, buy a jersey or ticket, or even just visit their website, I'm paying off that Yankee's debt? Firstly is that true? And if yes, how the heck can he do that? I can't just bid $50 billion and transfer it onto the club, can I? Please inform and inspire. Cheers!
